When pranks go wrong

Let me preface this a bit by giving you all the backstory.

On Christmas, I went down to my Pop Pop's house to see the family and all. My little cousin Lauren (10) and her older sister Brianna (12) are both big fans of these Jonas Brothers, which is one of those cookie-cutter musical acts that Disney likes to churn out for the kids. Well, after that day, when I left, I got a great idea to play a practical joke on my cousins. So I told my parents I would photoshop myself into a picture with the trio and make up this whole story about knowing them or some such.

Well, my folks thought it would be great, so when they went down there this past weekend and visited with my Pop Pop while he was staying at my Aunt's house, they planted a few seeds, saying I had met them when I was in LA at a game show or something. So I decided that it was time I got off my lazy butt and got with the chopping. The fruits of my 10-15 minutes of labor may be viewed above.

Sure enough, the combination of my Aunt and my Dad pretty much ruined the whole joke. My Aunt just didn't get that, uh, yeah this was all made up to trick a couple of kids. She got my dad to admit it then the whole thing snowballed from there. Even some skepticism from the kids wouldn't be enough to get them to totally disregard this as real. I could've milked this for a month, at least. Oh well ...

Also, the image of myself I used was from a latenight bar crawl I went on with my friend Joe a few years back when he was on leave from Afghanistan. So that explains why I'm all gross-looking.
