RIP Joseph Lare (1936 – 2009)
So I've been away from the internets for a week because on September 3rd around midnight, my grandfather passed away. Affectionately known as Pop Pop amongst us grandkids and his own children, my Pop Pop was not only a source of comfort and infinite compassion, but also one of my biggest role models in my life. He showed me how to be a man through his responsibilities as a father -- a job he never gave up or slacked on, even when his kids grew well into their 40's. I see so much of him in my own dad and while I mourn his passing greatly, I'm hopeful for the future. I'm hopeful that I will one day be half the man he was and touch half as many peoples' lives.
If you want to read his obituary, I took a blurry pic with my phone here (or you can read it in plain text here).
