In Pursuit of Super Street Fighter IV Skills: Fei Long
The Street Fighter series has been a mainstay for me throughout my entire life. Heck, I love it so much, some of its damn fictional characters have shaped my life (I feel a little weird admitting that). So when Super Street Fighter IV was announced, I was determined to get back to a respectable skill level. I'm getting there, one character at a time.
Sure, things like Hadokens and Dragon Punches are so ingrained in my DNA that I'll never be able to forget how and when to use them, but I want to branch out. I want to establish a deeper skill set and I want to be less of a one-trick pony in the game. So I decided to start playing with characters I have little-to-no experience with. First up: Fei Long.
I should preface this by talking about what kind of Street Fighter-er I am. I'm not a very technical guy; my strategy isn't about trying to pull off massive combos, but to rather find a core set of moves and work with them. It's a comfortable way for me to play -- competitive enough to win, but not be forced to compete at tournament level.
Above, you can see me kicking some ass with Fei Long.
As it stands now, I've got Fei Long at a C rank and have won 20 out of 38 ranked matches, giving me a 52.64% win percentage. I'll keep you posted on my progress, maybe through Twitter.
