Preview: Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake

I put up a hands-on writeup for upcoming PSP game, Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake, on that Joystiq site I write for. Here's an excerpt:

Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake is a great match for the PSP. The game's structure, its very nature, means it can be segmented in a most effective way on a handheld platform -- a quick match during your morning subway ride or while taking a break from work is when Fistful of Cake works best.

Gran Turismo (PSP) review for Joystiq

gtpspreviewI've got another review up over at Joystiq for Gran Turismo PSP. Here's an excerpt:

Gran Turismo PSP is one step forward and two steps back. It progresses the series by being a viable pick-up-and-go diehard sim racing title for the PSP -- something nobody has seen before -- and brings the graphical and gameplay polish of home consoles to the portable space, but it goes far backwards on the very fundamentals that made it such a beloved series in the first place. There's no career mode, and a lot of the content here doesn't sustain itself easily -- almost everything is unlocked from the get-go and there's no real incentive to play other than feeding that inner hoarder. It's a good effort, but Gran Turismo fans looking for an experience comparable to its console brethren won't find it here.

Head on over to Joystiq for the full review and if you're interested in reading any more of my reviews, check out my reviews page.

Poor PSP

poor_psp

My PSP sits on my desk, behind my monitor, and I was clearing some of the clutter today when I noticed the poor little handheld. The dust it gathers is incredible. Of course, this is dust from not having touched the thing in 7 months or so. It just has no games, so I never turn the damn thing on. Thanks to the Circuit City nonsense, however, I got a copy of Ultimate Ghosts 'N Goblins for like 8 bucks. So I look forward to playing that some time in the future.

The Zune has landed

Ever since I ordered it last week, I've been dying to get my Zune 120 in the mail. Well, today it finally arrived. I charged it up, wiped the BS that was on it and uploaded my music and a test movie. And yes, that movie is DOA: Dead or Alive, the best bad movie ever made. Why? Nanobots, dude. Nanobots.
