Racist Avatar in 1 vs 100 on Xbox Live

1vs100racistdpSo me and coworker Alexander Sliwinski were playing the live show of 1 vs 100 on Tuesday night and this fine young individual above ended up being the 1. Now, I know the new deal is that the 1 is chosen based on score, so the more you play, the better your chances at being in the mob or the 1 are. Still, are there no screeners? Nobody looks at the Avatars before they go on? Come on -- a blackface Avatar is not appropriate!

Note: Sorry for the crummy pic. I had to use my Pre and I was snapping from a projector, so it's not the brightest. But you get the idea!

Finally, some beautiful Kingdom Under Fire II eye candy

One of the lesser known things about me is that the first two Kingdom Under Fire games are among my most favorite titles ever. Don't believe me? Peep my reviews of each of the first two games right here.

So, that image above? That's totally in-game. I just hope that Kingdom Under Fire II toes the line between RTS and hack-and-slash like the first two games in the series did so well. Want to see some video and more screens? Check out this post over at Joystiq.

Gears of War 2 = MIA Dave

So, you might've noticed I haven't put anything here in the last week. Well, you can thank Gears of War 2 for that. I've been playing it nonstop online, because, uh, it's amazing. For as many faults it has, the game has twice as many positive changes over the first game. The matchmaking is slow sometimes, but nowhere near as painful as the lobby system of the first game. Also, the glitching seems to be gone (for now, at least) and the new maps are really balanced. Plus, flamethrower!

Really, it's an amazing game. Even Horde is good, which I thought was really going to suck. And taking pictures is awesome! See me getting curb stomped above? Awesome.

Am I the only one absolutely pumped for Dead Space?

It kind of seems so, seeing as how the game hasn't been all over the blogosphere. As someone who makes a living working in the gaming blog sector, I understand the push that PR does the week before a game releases, as well as when and after. Why have I not seen all that much on Dead Space yet?

Aside from the buzz of one review, and a write-up here and there, the gaming blogs have been woefully empty of Dead Space stuff. This game is looking like it will revolutionize the survival-horror genre, which is one of my favorites.

Maybe it's all this damn Nintendo news, which I guess I can't be all that mad at, as it's kind of caused a resurgance in hope that Nintendo isn't all about Wii Fit and Wii Music anymore (even in myself, I admit, who severely doubted the company from E3 on). Whatever it is, I'm here to say that it's the only thing on my mind right now and I'm incredibly anxious to play it. If you've got no idea what it is, check out some videos over at GameTrailers by clicking this link.

Dead Rising on Wii = LOL

Okay, first of all, there isn't any AI with the Hitman character models and they're repeated a HELL of a lot more than in Dead Rising (I love Hitman, played through them all and enjoyed the level here, so I know what the deal is), but this is still funny. When my colleague Chris brought it up in the work chat, I found it to be quite comical. Comical enough to post here, I guess.
