8-bit metal: Metallica chiptunes

Chiptunes are pretty good, but I don't have as much time as I used to hunt down awesome songs. Today, I stumbled upon a pretty cool YouTube fad -- well, maybe not so much a fad as a couple of awesome users. See, there's 8-bit renditions of Metallica songs available (i'm talking the good Metallica, not the new garbage). The one above this text is Master of Puppets, but I think the remixed version of One is even better. You can find that past the break.

So wrong, yet so right: Wilford Brimley’s ‘The Beetis’

I shouldn't make fun, because my mom has diabetes and I probably already do, too, but this is just amazing on so many levels. You can see other "Diabeetus" mixes over at YouTube. Apparently, I'm late to this party, as well.

[Note: Somebody linked this in Twitter, but I can't find the update to credit my discovery of this great video. If it was you, and you're reading this, ripping apart your keyboard right now, sorry. Just leave a comment and ... oh, wait. Nevermind ...]

YouTube optimized for Wii, PS3

youtubefortvpostimage3I did a quick guide to using YouTube on Wii yesterday. YouTube has launched YouTube for Television, which is a version of the site built for the Wii and PS3's web browsers. Check out my Wii walkthrough here and see PS3 Fanboy for a video of it on the PS3.

When advertising goes right

I try as hard as I can to tune out advertising most of the time, but when it's shoved into your face 24/7 (especially more so in recent years, if you work on the internet, like me), it's hard to dodge it. Chris presented me with this most awesome bit of advertising this morning. How can you hate such an ad?
